I believe the golf swing needs to be a dynamic movement. The fundamentals are obviously important but if they are not combined into a functional movement then the swing will remain ineffective. Combining the geometry of the club with the forces of the pivot, I believe I can help improve your game.

After turning professional at the age of 21 and playing on various tours throughout the world, I’d realised my passion is using my knowledge and skill sets to help people. This is why I became a golf coach.

I grew up in the heart of Sydney and eventually joined The Lakes Golf Club in my teens. I played off scratch at age 13 and played tournament golf from age 12.

During my time as both amateur and professional I have had the opportunity to be taught by and learn from many of the best golf coaches throughout both Australia and the world. All with slightly different philosophies on what makes the golf swing efficient. Many of them named golf coach of the year by their relevant professional bodies.

Health and fitness is also an important part of my life just as it is becoming ever more prevalent in the game of golf.

Why you need a Golf Coach

Tiger Woods, who is widely considered as the best to play the game, at least of this generation, would employ a coach for 800 hours per year. Which translates to 100 - 8 hour days. If a 15 time major champion requires a golf coach then do any of us really have an excuse?

The game is constantly evolving. From mid 1900’s watching and learning from the games greats like Ben Hogan and Sam Snead (which we still look at and learn from today). To the more modern players and swing theories that have proven efficient like those of Moe Norman, Mac O’Grady or Bryson DeChambeau. Or is golf simply an art form as the likes of Jack Nicklaus and Seve Ballesteros have showed us through the years.

Combine all this with the advancement of technology in equipment along with the new sports science analysis. Not to mention the access to ‘instructional’ information of various platforms like youtube that now exists, golf is confusing. This is why you need a golf coach.

A golf coach’s role is to help simplify all these spinning plates and specify exactly what the student needs to focus on in order to help them improve and work towards reaching their desired goals.

Reverse every natural instinct and do the opposite of what you are inclined to do, and you will probably come very close to having a perfect golf swing.
